Dreams - Chapter 1“You’re different.”   The shivering scenery of my dream stilled for a moment at the hushed words. Unlike the rest of the deeply peaceful scene I stood within, a sweet product of my own mind, the statement held some grain of reality, and my head tilted softly to the right without my bidding.   A curious figure stood before me, his shape shivery and indistinct like all things were here. I’d chosen a comforting scene from my childhood for tonight’s dream, had applied it seamlessly to the open expanse of my own subconscious. Real LifeA breeze flits through the trees,  Painting a dream,  Catching some means of expression,  A whispered thought to lighten depression.   
The grass hums, soft and low,  Leaves fall like fresh snow.  Birds twitter from between the boughs,  Of a glade so far it’s close.   
Why must time pass us by,  Why must we be persuaded to smile?  What is so hard,  About going that extra mile?  And why, oh why, must I ask?

1. Being smart is NOT cool.
2. Working at McDonalds isn't cool either.
3. Buying a cup of $5 coffee makes you cool.
4. Same with Jamba Juice smoothies.
5. If you read books, you are WEIRD.
6. If you write books, you're a NERD.
7. Fake tans make a woman.
8. Acting braindead and looking perfect 24/7 is how to score a hormonal guy.
9. Eating is very, very bad.
10. Self esteem is a very nice thought, but who cares when nothing in life is nice?

Personally, it struck me as a possible book cover- I actually did a double take when I realized it was a real picture. Gave me a laugh at myself, and a pat on the back in your direction.
